Fred Giannelli

There are few musicians in electronic music who have had as long and varied
a career as Fred Giannelli. Working in a wide variety of styles over the
last twenty years, Giannelli has created an amazing, wonderfully idiosyncratic
body of work. From the acid house inspired rock of Psychic TV in the late
eighties to The Kooky Scientist project as well as his solo work on his
own Telepathic label and others , which run the gamut from hard, dance-floor
oriented music to more ambient, experimental stuff, his career has been
marked by a willingness to take musical and professional risks. He is
a true iconoclast, unwilling to compromise and play by the rules. As he
puts it, ''if you're not a part of the system, if you're not a slave to
the system, you're not going to get exposure in America. You're going
to remain underground and there's nothing wrong with being underground
Ë you're better off!''
